I just need this piece of the grill (LH side) and then I can have turn signals on the Corvette. But everyone on the internet wants $400 US for these things. Where is a good place to buy used, crappy Corvette parts? I don’t care about chrome, I just need it to work.

3D printer.
I think you’re stuck, unless there’s a parts car on kijiji.

Swap meets, ebay, local Vette clubs(?), old old old old salvage yards... some stuff is just stupid expensive though.

It begins. The trouble with classic car restoration isn’t the 99% of stuff you can find/fix/replace easy...its that one stupid part that is impossible to source cheaply (or at all). Here’s hoping that those parts are few and far between for your project.

flea markets and swap meets!

Look up smaller older salvage yards, for one thing. Some have no online presence, so giving them a ring or stopping in could help.

You’ll have to haggle and probably buy a couple things and not one or two pieces here and there.
Where you are, I’ve been there. Patience and luck are the most important things, but you have little of the former and the latter is as reliable as a Yugo in a snowstorm.

Try a classic vette forum, and post a WTB in the classifieds section. I’ve bought a few parts for my old trucks this way, for fair prices. Just stuff old guys had laying in their garage, and they never thought about selling on the internet. A certain generation is skeptical of ebay and the like, but they’ll go out of their way to help a younger guy with interest in their favorite vehicles.

As a temporary solution for a couple bucks at any parts store you could buy an amber side marker light for a trailer should be easy wire it in and attach it with an L bracket or you could be really lazy and just use zip ties haha

Thats still high priced because aftermarket suppliers are leveraging the knock-off parts price against the GM ones. Only the RH #5964684 for 70-72 C3 Vettes is still available from GM but its a whopping $900.67. The side you need is a #5964683 which GM discontinued but the aftermarket is getting top dollar for the replica ones. At $400 thats cheap because most suppliers are getting $600 for the new aftermarket ones and restorers that demand an original are paying dearly.
